Coaching and Counseling are my passion…
I am a Master Certified Life Coach and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families. I have been a life coach since 2014, and I began providing individual, marriage, and family counseling in 2018. I am committed to continuous learning and frequently attend advanced trainings to refine my skills and provide the best care for my clients.
My Educational Journey
Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology
Master Certified Life Coach
Master’s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling
Level 3 Certified Solution-Focused Brief Couples Therapist from the Solution Focused Universe lead by world renowned therapists Elliott Connie and Adam Froerer
My Approach to Life Coaching and Therapy
I work with clients to clearly define what they want in their lives and then work step-by-step towards making that vision a reality through self-awareness, shifting perspectives, building skills, breaking down roadblocks, and focusing on the next step toward success.
Helping clients transform their lives is a deeply fulfilling part of my journey. Seeing the positive changes unfold is a privilege I cherish every day.
My Life Outside of Coaching and Therapy
I’m not just a life coach and therapist; I’m also a wife, mother, artist, and business owner. I understand the complexities of balancing multiple roles while staying true to my passions. This is why I believe so strongly in the power of life coaching and counseling to help individuals find balance and fulfillment.
I am also a printmaking artist with a body of work that has been showcased at local exhibitions . My artwork is an expression of my heart and a way to stay grounded and centered. I have recently turned that need to be creative into designing therapy inspired t-shirts. Check them out in our online store!
My Philosophy on Social Justice and Advocacy
I am passionate about social justice and believe in addressing biases within myself and the systems I am a part of. I am an LGBTQIA+ Ally and Social Justice Advocate, committed to removing barriers for minority communities.
Achievements and Advocacy Work
Co-authored a textbook chapter on social justice in Marriage and Family Therapy: A Practice-Oriented Approach Edited by Linda Metcalf (Chapter 21. The Family Therapist and Social Justice).
Advocate through the Texas Association for Marriage and Family Therapy to increase support for minority MFT students and professionals.
My Belief
I believe it is our responsibility to understand our privileges and how they intersect with the struggles of others. Creating open dialogue, being receptive to feedback, and actively working towards equality and justice is at the heart of my practice. I have found the best way to incorporate diversity and inclusion is through respect. I respect my clients and believe they are the best expert on themselves, their culture, and their lived experiences. I respect my client's right to set the goals they hope to achieve in counseling and see my role as facilitator. I do my best to honor and acknowledge how culture, ethnicity, racism, marginalized identities, and lived experience impact the goals they set for themselves in counseling. I do my best to create a safe space for clients by acknowledging my privilege and intentionally creating space for clients to correct me or make me aware when I have overstepped, however unintentionally. I do my own work by attending trainings, reading and engaging in media from diverse sources, and engaging in diverse experiences.
I am just like many of you…
I know that it can be difficult to find a balance between everyone's needs and still find time to take care of yourself. I also know how hard it can be to step into the unknown to follow your dreams and live your truth.
Starting Life Coach Round Rock was a leap into a new future and required me to rearrange the plan I had laid out for my life. It required me to put aside my fears and instead put that energy into making my business a success.
I work with clients every day to find and build their inner strength to step into the unknown and build a different life; a better life. I believe in them, in you, the way I believe in myself.
Thank you for allowing me to share my story with you. I can’t wait to hear yours.
Wishing you the best,
Angela Hayes, MS, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Master Certified Life Coach, Certified Business Coach, Level 3 Certified Solution-focused Brief Couples Therapist
